Client Description
Cincinnati Commercial Contracting is a client-focused, full service construction management and real estate company founded by John Westheimer. Operating in the Ohio/Kentucky/Indiana Tri-state area, CCC delivers products and services that are designed to exceed our customers' expectations.
Client's Need
A competitive promotional campaign that would strengthen their overall sales process, support their bidding efforts, and enhance their online presence. A more cohesive delivery of their branding along advertising materials was required. A priority on improving online function was most attractive, since there was a long-time need for:
- more focused promotional content,
- photographic and testimonial evidence of their consistent building quality,
- manageable pages detailing their leaseable corporate real estate,
and more. Keeping the company's partnership with Butler Buildings in high visibility was also important to CCC.
Our Solution
In late 2005 / early 2006, we deployed a new website for CCC that would handle all of their needs, including service summary & detail pages, comparison charts vs. the competition, company history, testimonials, press, contact forms, and more.
Both an available real estate catalog section and a construction plans access-only section of the site are also content managed by authorized CCC administrators. Each section is easy to navigate as either a standard visitor or administrator. The plans section of the site requires username and password for standard visitors, which allows CCC to securely control which subcontractors have access to particular jobs for bidding.
Throughout the process, FluidMedia took high-end digital photography of the majority of CCC's showcase buildings and projects-in-progress, elevating the quality of what they had been able to display in the past.
Videos were also generated for the site and for inclusion in PowerPoint presentations given to prospective clients. These videos primarily focused on testimonials and the wide variety of building types and markets that CCC could successfully handle. Later videos also focused on crane building technologies, metal re-roof benefits, and demonstrations of the building process itself. For the most part, CCC has embraced a standard-definition, web-only video philosophy and has opted out of most video production bells and whistles, keeping their costs down and focusing on the integrity of the content itself. This strategy has proven to be successful and mutually beneficial to both CCC and FluidMedia.
Print materials have also been an important part of the CCC sales process. A 12" x 9" tri-fold resource folder was created that could hold two large panels worth of letter-sized inserts and a slot-held business card. Many of the inserts designed by FluidMedia (examples here and here) were property specification sheets, displaying one to three photos. If the folder was empty, it could still be used as a strong promotional piece by itself, as it contained 10 high-quality photos, brochure text, list of supported markets, and contact information.
This is one of several testimonial and demonstrative videos that we created for the Cincinnati Commercial Contracting website and for its Youtube channel. Recommendation-based content was the main emphasis of these videos, and an economic approach to their production helped to push that focus.
